Current Official Requirements and Procedures
As of the date of this review, the official foodpanda Taiwan delivery partner page states: Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a smartphone with internet access, and own a valid standard-class motorcycle or electric scooter (the official page notes that a motorcycle not registered in the applicant’s name may be used). First, select the city and mode of transportation you wish to work in on the official form; the screen will then display the information currently required for that account.
The official process is currently divided into three steps: uploading documents and filling out equipment information, watching a video and passing a quiz, and completing the contract signing. The official FAQ states that if all required information is provided and the review goes smoothly, the account can be activated “within 3 days at the earliest”; this is a conditional statement from the official source and does not constitute a guarantee of activation for every applicant. If you are asked to submit additional documents, please keep a record of the notification, the date you submitted the additional documents, and any responses from customer service.
Compensation, benefits, and activities should be considered separately
According to the Ministry of Labor’s interpretation of Article 5 of the “Act on the Protection of Delivery Workers’ Rights and the Management of Delivery Platforms,” the base pay for each order must be calculated based on the duration of the delivery service and must not be less than 1.25 times the minimum hourly wage, nor less than 45 yuan; Bonuses cannot be included in this basic compensation calculation. This is the statutory minimum for basic compensation per order and does not equate to an individual’s net hourly wage. You must still account for online time and waiting time, mileage, fuel and electricity costs, maintenance, communication expenses, equipment costs, and insurance premiums.
