8-Minute vs. 12-Minute Delivery Orders: How Do the Two Thresholds for Base Pay Compare?

Even if they’re both listed at 45 yuan, short-term and slightly longer-term orders may not necessarily meet the statutory minimum guarantee. Using two simple time examples makes it easier to determine which threshold to use for verification than simply noting “45 yuan per order.”

First, recognize the two hurdles

The Ministry of Labor explains that each basic payment must not be less than 45 yuan, nor may it be less than the amount calculated by multiplying the service time by 1.25 times the minimum hourly wage. Based on the 2026 hourly wage of 196 yuan, the calculation benchmark is 245 yuan per hour; If the minimum wage or the announced amount is adjusted in the future, the figures for that year shall be used instead.

The Difference Between 8 Minutes and 12 Minutes

8 minutes, calculated at 245 yuan per hour, comes to approximately 32.67 yuan; therefore, the 45-yuan per transaction cap still offers higher protection. 12 minutes, calculated at 49 yuan, exceeds 45 yuan. This is merely an example to illustrate how to make the comparison; it does not mean that the service time for each actual order will be an exact whole number of minutes.

Reconcile the figures to the detailed records

First, confirm the order acceptance and completion times, then check the base pay for that order and any adjustments to the balance. Bonuses cannot be used to make up for shortfalls in base pay; if the app only shows a total amount, ask the platform to break it down so you can identify which order the difference comes from.
