Last updated: October 3, 2026. The most easily overlooked aspect of night shifts isn’t “whether to take one more ride,” but whether you’re clearly visible at intersections, in traffic lanes, and at pickup locations. Before heading out, actually turn on your headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals to check them, and wipe away any dirt covering the lens covers or reflective surfaces; also check your tires, brakes, and phone mount. If your lights are malfunctioning or your brakes aren’t working properly, address the vehicle issues first—don’t rely on reflective clothing to make up for it.
Reflective gear can improve visibility, but it must not cover your helmet, license plate, or lights, nor does it mean you can park in no-parking zones or dangerous locations. When riding through an unfamiliar neighborhood, first find a legal parking spot that doesn’t obstruct traffic, then check house numbers, signs, and your navigation app. When you’re unsure of your route, it’s safer to take a few extra seconds to park safely than to suddenly brake at an intersection or use your phone while riding.
While waiting to pick up an order, park your vehicle, then verify the order number, number of meal bags, and destination; when making a delivery, choose a well-lit location and, if necessary, confirm the delivery location with the customer via the app. If there are discrepancies in the address, entrance, or floor information, keep a record of the message and the time, and use the platform’s support channels. Do not enter unfamiliar routes or areas where you cannot park safely just to save time.
When it’s raining or visibility is poor, it becomes more difficult to judge road markings, standing water, curves, and the distance to other vehicles. If a malfunctioning light, excessive fatigue, or weather conditions prevent you from clearly identifying road conditions, stop accepting new orders and report any existing orders according to the app’s procedures.
