To Ensure You Have Your Food Delivery Insurance Policy: Be Sure to Keep a Copy of the Digital Policy Yourself

The fact that the platform’s backend displays the words “Insurance Valid” does not mean that the delivery rider has reviewed the coverage details. Only the insurance policy itself specifies the term, scope, minimum coverage amount, and application procedures; therefore, a copy of the policy should be retained for future reference.

The Platform's Obligation to Provide Services

Article 10 of the Delivery Services Act requires platforms to provide delivery riders with a copy of the insurance policy in written or electronic form for their records and to retain a copy for one year. The law also specifies the requirements for group accident insurance and liability insurance; a promotional image without policy terms cannot be used as a substitute.

How to Organize Files

Save your insurance policies, the names of your insurance companies, and links to customer service and claims filing in the same folder, and include the date you obtained each document in the file name. If the platform updates your policy, keep both the old and new versions so you can verify which terms were in effect at the time of the incident.

In the event of an accident

First, handle first aid, call the police, and ensure the safety of the scene. Then, follow the official procedures of the platform and the insurance company to file a report and preserve the medical diagnosis, accident, and order records. Whether a claim is approved depends on the terms of the contract and the specifics of the case; it cannot be determined based solely on online experiences.
